Wayne E. Shearer founded Shearer Supply in Dallas, Texas, in 1983 with a straightforward mission: build lasting relationships with contractors through quality products, dependable service, and a commitment to their success. What began as a local HVAC distributor has grown into a multi-state operation serving contractors across Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. Through continued expansion, strategic acquisitions, and generations of family leadership, we've built a legacy rooted in relationships and driven by progress.

1983Founded in 1983 by Wayne E. Shearer in Dallas, TX, Shearer Supply began as an HVAC distributor dedicated to building strong relationships with contractors by providing quality products and service. From 1983 to 1988, Shearer was a distributor of Coleman Heating and Air Conditioning, supporting the residential HVAC market.

1984Fort Worth, TX branch opens. Expansion into Oklahoma and Louisiana over the following years led to new branches and a growing delivery fleet.

1986Oklahoma City, OK branch opens.

1988The company transitioned to American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning, expanding into the light commercial sector.

1993East Dallas, TX branch opens.

1995Tulsa, OK branch opens.

1999The West Dallas branch relocates to Carrollton, TX.

2000Lubbock, TX branch opens.

2004Shreveport, LA branch opens.

2005Wayne Shearer retired, passing leadership to his daughter Michelle Shearer-Rodriguez, with Abel Rodriguez as CFO.

2010Carrollton, TX headquarters opens.

2011Shearer Supply was awarded new territories in Arkansas, Tennessee, and Mississippi by American Standard. Branches open in Springdale, AR; Little Rock, AR; Memphis, TN; and Jackson, TN.

2017Alex Rodriguez, third-generation leadership, joined as President, focusing on company expansion and customer service excellence.

2019Addison S. Rodriguez joined as CTO, spearheading Shearer's digital transformation with advanced business analytics and e-commerce platforms.

2022Acquisition of Partners Supply in Chattanooga, TN, expanding into Alabama and Tennessee.

2023Chattanooga, TN and Knoxville, TN branches open.

2024Acquisition of Climatic Corporation, adding new territories in Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. Nine branches open: Birmingham, Pelham, Huntsville, Montgomery (AL); Savannah, Warner Robins, Valdosta (GA); Pensacola, Panama City Beach (FL).

2025Shearer awarded the Jacksonville and Gainesville, FL, market areas by American Standard. Branches also open in Dothan, AL and Tallahassee, FL.

2026Shearer Supply today serves licensed HVAC contractors through the locations shown on the map and listed below.
